Dance, actually all the Performing Arts, has always been a source of inspiration and influence on the creation of Willow Tree figurines. As Susan says, "dance is sculpture in motion!" When sculpting a piece, Susan carves movement into the form so that the figures appear actively engaged with their gestures. The figures on this page celebrate the beauty of dance and music and make wonderful gifts for those who participate in this art form, or who simply enjoy being in the audience. Some pieces, such as Music Speaks, have musical instruments carved onto the body of the figure... others such as Angel of Harmony or Irish Charm are specific to a single instrument or a dance style.
